The 5th International Cycle History Conference was held from the 2nd to the 4th of September 1994 in Cambridge and was attended by cycle historians from around the world. A wide range of topics were presented, some of the most significant ones being the emergence of commercial production and marketing, and the continuity of historic development to the present time. This volume of academic research on the early history of the bicycle contains the texts of the presentations made at the conference.
