It includes the General, Esteourt (Isolation), St Nicholas (Naval), Gorleston Cottage, Gorleston and Northgate (Workhouse) Hospitals The various smallpox, cholera and military hospitals, which at one time were in the town, are also included. Details of many of the past doctors of the town are given, dating back to the 18th century and the well-established practices are traced back to their origins.
