Reseña del editor:
The Tipping Point: A Wainwright Mystery is a suspense novel set in 1978. Garth Wainwright is one of the ten business partners of CapVest, a successful national real estate investment firm. Wainwright is invited to join one of those partners, Tom Burke, and his wife for a skiing holiday in Aspen. His invitation came from Lacey Kinkaid, Burke’s lawyer and Wainwrights new love interest. The foursome is having a fun February vacation together—until Burke’s mysterious death pushes Wainwright’s buttons to learn the motive for his death. If Tom Burke had not died on the slopes of Aspen Mountain, Wainwright would never have risked losing everything. However, his suspicious death launched an avalanche—a tipping point—involving nine business partners and a hefty helping of greed, complicity, and murder. Wainwright returns to company headquarters in Bellevue Washington to dig for clues for a motive for murder. His questions met with suspicion and skepticism from his partners. “Just leave it alone, Garth” or “Let the cops handle this,” Wainwright questions his qualifications to continue, but his bulldog mindset drives him to keep probing for an answer. As he searches for a reason for Burke to die, he uncovers a conspiracy of fraud far bigger than anyone could have imagined. This discovery could very well destroy the company, the reputations of its partners as well as their massive personal fortunes. And then— another partner is killed. As dead bodies start piling up, Wainwright’s questioning of why they were murdered turns to who is the murderer? Are the murders connected to the fraud? Is the killer inside the company? Which of his remaining partners can he trust? The company’s survival is at stake. Other lives are at stake, especially Wainwright’s. The SEC is watching. The financial community is watching. The Tipping Point is moving toward a fall. The Tipping Point is a story with a complex and compelling plot. Thrills of a psychological and action variety will keep the reader guessing until the end. (And readers’ will never figure out who was behind all the dirty deeds!)
Biografía del autor:
Walter Danley is a mystery and suspense author of The Tipping Point: A Wainwright Mystery. It is a highly praised, fast-paced thriller to die for! Born an Indiana Hoosier, his family moved to California at an early age where he grew up on Southern California beaches surfing and sunning before time for his daily paper route. At home, he was surrounded by a loving family who worked in construction or real estate. His blue collar background is far from the emotionally compelling, high-flying characters he developed in The Tipping Point. Following high school, Walter served his country as a Navy Hospital Corpsman, and later as a medic in the Fleet Marine Force. You can bet that some of those stories will show up in later novels. Following an honorable discharge, he worked selling kitchen & bath cabinets to tract home and apartment developers in SoCal. He managed to attend Cal State Long Beach College nights while also preparing bids for the projects his company would supply. One of those developer clients recruited him into commercial real estate, where he spent his career on the investment side of the property business. Walter has had four marriages to three women, all who celebrate a birthday between October 1st and the 7th (of differing years), or as he reports it, four Libra property settlements. The last of these happy unions (and they were all happy) was to Broadway, film and television actress, Christopher Norris. Danley proposed marriage on their second date. She accepted five years later and the couple were married for eighteen years during the young Danley crew’s formative years. He credits many of their qualities as adults to the wonderful influence of their stepmother, He now lives in the Texas Hill Country with his books, computers and a cat named Baby. Walter reports that currently he is busy working on the sequel to The Tipping Point. Critics say if you like mystery and suspense with exhilarating thrills, blind curve plot twists, and page-turning action, you’ll love Walter Danley’s novels. http://www.walterdanley.com
