J., a son of Jacob and Abigail Dodd Ward, who was born in Bloomfield in 1806, and moved to Columbia, Morris Co., N. J., in 1812. CHILDREN. 1 Laura J. Ward.8 2 LESLIE Dodd Ward,8 m. Minnie Perry, daughter of James Perry, of New ark. He was a physician, and is now Vice President of the Prudential Insurance Co., of Newark, of which he was one of the originators. A Newark paper, of Dec. 24, 1896, contains a long obituary of Mr. Ward, of which the following forms a part: Elias S. Ward, one of the most prominent business men of Newark, and well known throughout the State, died late yesterday afternoon at his home, 13 South Ninth Street, this city.
