Biograf�a del autor:

Michael Craton, who was educated in England at Christ's Hospital and University College, London, taught History at the Government High School in Nassau for six years. Fulfilling an obvious need, he researched and wrote the first full History of The Bahamas (1962), before going on to a doctorate and a university career in Canada. He is the author of many works on the British West Indies, slavery and plantations, including A Jamaican Plantation, Sinews of Empire, Searching for the Invisible Man and Testing the Chains. From the 1980s Professor Craton concentrated almost exclusively on Bahamian History. Collaborating with Dr. Gail Saunders, the Archivist of The Bahamas, he produced the prize-winning two-volume Bahamian social history called Islanders in the Stream, and since his retirement from teaching has also published the authorised biography of Sir Lynden Pindling (2002).
