What defines the beauty and complexity of emotions? Like the delicacy of a flower, emotions are beautiful but they are sensitive and vulnerable. They are sometimes too complex to understand or solve. Is the emotion dead? Is it suffering? Or is it satisfied and enjoyed?

My name is Candice Hathorne-Jackson. In my spare time, I work as a freelance or content writer with an emphasis on imagery, expression, entertainment and creativity. I'm a very passionate person and love to tell and read stories through poetry. I have written numerous of poems as well as a few short stories and essays. My book titled "Black and Blue Roses" captures the essence emotions. My Motto: Everyone has a voice. So speak. I believe that everyone has a voice whether it's speaking through poetry, art, photography, or music. It all emotes inspiration. My Favorite poet is Maya Angelou. Why I like Ms. Angelou: "She is a strong and wise woman who is never afraid nor ashamed to express herself (her feelings, desires, beliefs). Like her work, she is captivating and i am truly inspired!" Other poets I am inspired by include: Whalt Whitman, Emily Dickinson, Langston Hughes, Gwendolyn Brooks, Nikki Giovanni, Lucille Clifton, and Sonia Sanchez Growing up, i have always desired to become an author of a book that i wrote, something that means something to me and that can impact my readers lives. Growing up as a child, i have gone through experiences, some that i'm proud of and some that I am not. I always found a way to express myself through poetry and going back in reading it, i was able to "listen" to myself, my feelings, and be drawn to a world outside of my own. Using writing as therapy, I became fascinated with the art of poetry and creative writing. I would love to further my education in writing and eventually pursue an advanced writing career that will create a wide range of opportunity to showcase my passion and skills. As a freelance writer, i am "free" to express "me". I am an avid believer in expressing one's self based on simply "inspiration". Personal experience, the experiences of people around me, and the world in general. I enjoy being creative, entertaining and being entertained by writing and reading the thoughts of my fellow writers and poets.
