For 50 years I was a television producer/director/writer. My first book, "The Flying Phone Booth" told the story of my three years directing and producing Candid Camera. Luckily I was born with a photographic memory which has stayed with me more or less for 86 years. Watching todays economy I thought back to my childhood and living through the great depression. I wrote all the stories about how our family lived through that horrible decade between 1927 and 1937. Read about how real people faced the money crunch, the CCC, (Civilian Conservation Corp), the WPA, free food from the county and the tragedy of my fathers passing. I'm lucky to still be here to tell you younger folks how a real depression feels.
