Born March 31, 1953 After twenty-five years in business-to-business communications sales I retired and attended art school full time in 1998. Beginning as a clerk keeping records with paper and pencil, I exited the corporate world as a Regional Sales Manager right at the dawn of the Information Age. The opportunity allowed me to pursue my inner vision of myself as an artist. I graduated from the University of the Arts in 2002 earning a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree in Multimedia and Communications. I studied photography at Philadelphia University with Jack Carnell as part of the Digital Design Masters Degree Program in 2003. I have been designing websites and exhibiting my photography in art shows and competitions since 2004. In 2008 I began writing an art blog called DoNArTNeWs beginning with only 5000 hits per year and now is topping 500,000 hits for 2011, with a quarter million unique visitors this year. I have written over 400 stories about the Philadelphia art scene for the blog; people around the region, country and the world, subscribe to get news about the Philadelphia art scene. As a result, I am now a contributing writer to Philly.SideArts.com, an artists' portfolio website, writing over forty stories so far for the widely read blog about arts topics relevant to a national audience. I have served on two boards of directors for Philadelphia arts groups and helped develop the website for NUVISIONS for Disabled Artists. As a member of the Philadelphia Sketch Club, The Plastic Club and The Photographic Society of Philadelphia I participate in art events on an on-going basis, my goal being to be exhibiting my art somewhere at all times. In 2010, I was honored with a CFEVA spotlight exhibition at The Radisson Warwick Hotel's The Coffee Bar. I have given lectures on my artwork, blogging and search engine optimization. I live with my two dogs in a Center City row-home doubling as my studio. I am dedicated to the Philadelphia art scene and establishing myself as a successful artist and entrepreneur.
