Reseña del editor:
While Martin Keller paints in his den, his creativity flows from a cryptic source. His newly annexed talent transcends into results far beyond his own abilities. He searches his soul for a rational explanation, but rationalism seems out of reach. He loses consciousness while he paints and this phenomenon only darkens the waters of logic. Soon he realizes that his paintings, thoughts, and dreams take him away from his normal world and into an altered state which if full of deception and chaos. Unaware of the events that guided the spirits of his European ancestry to his modern day mayhem, Martin begins to doubt his sanity, wondering if he has inherited the same gene which caused Joe Keller, his father, to brutally murder his mother twenty-six years ago. Reluctantly, he visits his anguished father who, unable to convince authorities of his spiritual influences, has been institutionalized for over two decades for his wife’s murder. Martin resists the validity of a spiritual bloodline until his troubles intensify and his actions put those around him in danger.
Biografía del autor:
On his journey to a business degree, and after having won academic awards for his writing skills, Rod began to take writing more seriously while attending South Dakota State University. From there, he started writing “Keller’s Den.” He eventually finished his final draft and then hired an editorial service to polish the story for the book market. The intriguing storyline and subplots in “Keller’s Den,” demonstrate that he has no shortage of creativity. Incidentally, his second novel is expected to be published soon. Having spent his youth in the Midwest, Rod currently resides in South Carolina with his wife, Teri, and their cat, Jackson. Rod has spent most of his working life following in his father’s footsteps in the food wholesale business either in management or sales. His jobs have taken him from Illinois to Indiana to South Dakota and finally on to South Carolina. Regarding the weather in South Dakota, Rod says “Just because the name of a state starts with the word South doesn’t mean it will be warm there!” Interesting trivia: There is a host of notable author’s in Rod’s ancestry which include Louisa May Alcott, Oliver Wendell Holmes, Geoffrey Chaucer, O Henry, Stephen Crane, Laura Ingalls Wilder, William Faulkner and Truman Capote (Research courtesy of Jan Rust). More interesting trivia: Rod’s 9th Great Grandfather (directly down the genealogy line), John Alden, was a leader on the Mayflower along with Captain Miles Standish. Alden was one of the 102 passengers along with a crew of 30 aboard the Mayflower. Alden was said to have been one of the first to set foot on Plymouth Rock and was influential in the creation of Thanksgiving with the Wampanoag Indians.
