Reseña del editor:
The book is based on the author’s experiences of hosting and sponsoring women’s day celebrations and participating in social issues affecting women over the years, as well as research and conversations with other women. The conversations seek to highlight some of the situations in which women knowingly or unknowingly hurt other women and alienate the very people who could be their lifelong allies. Most of us in our lifetime have hurt others while doing something that we enjoy. It is however important for women and men to begin to think about the impact of their actions. Whether it be sarcasm, hatred, gossip, promiscuity, bullying etc, it is important to think about people being affected by our actions. This book is meant to initiate dialogue between people and encourage them to introspect, reflecting on their own experiences, laughing at themselves, acknowledging their weaknesses and exploring ways to improve their behaviours and beliefs. The ultimate aim is to introduce a change process in individuals and hopefully change the broader global society. The Mistress, The Mother-in-law, The Sister, The Homophobe etc. are just some examples of people who belong to a broader society that affects our lives negatively and can change to make a huge difference by building positive relationships with those around them.
