When Charlene realized that she was the only person holding both Ferguson brothers’ Civil War diaries plus sixteen original nineteenth century letters written to them from Scotland, she felt compelled to put their information into book form for future researchers. She came late to the genealogy/family history game a few years ago when she naively decided to make “a little family tree booklet for the kids.” Little did she know that in genealogy every little mystery is followed by another and then another until days and months and then years are consumed.
