E.E. Martin wrote her first novel at age 15 in 2005. The first manuscript was motivated by a request of her grandmother, and Martin read the book to her grandmother, chapter by chapter, until it was complete. Her grandmother put it best when she said, "Keep on writing. I might as well tell you to keep on breathing." (Anna Mae Wilson, 1936-2010). Since then, she has completed 9 novels. At age 16, Martin earned the honor of participating in Kentucky's Governor's School for the Arts in Creative Writing. That same year, a theatrical adaptation of her first novel manuscript was produced. She also completed her second novel. Her third novel was finished at age 17, and the fourth at age 18 during her first semester in undergraduate study. In October 2009, Martin finished the first draft of Ember. After the enthusiastic reception of readers, Martin decided to introduce Ember to the world in 2011. After 3 years at the University of Kentucky, Martin graduated in May 2011 with a B.A. in Communication (Corporate Business) and English. She plans to promote her writing and produce more books, from sequels in the Ember Series and other novels such as the upcoming Gift of Saturn Series.
