The goal is to help children understand that sometimes bad things happen to good people. The book also opens the door for children to ask questions about a parent’s illness and about why things have changed... why dad can no longer play... why dad no longer goes to work... and why did dad get cancer! This book is meant to assist children in learning how to cope with the changes and the possibilities of what is happening in their lives due to the serious illness of a parent.

Anna Renault has had multiple cancers. Her first was in 1977 when her daughter was just 7 years old. She remembers the fear her daughter experienced. This book was written to help reduce those fears in other children. Renault has written "Anna's Journey: How many lives does one person get?" - her own story. Her other books include several children's books... Annie Goes to Catholic School (partially autobiographical) and Ozzie Goes to Catholic School (regarding a case of bullying). "Mitzy, the Butterfly: The Environmentalist" is the first in a series of books to encourage children to learn and care for their environment. More MITZY books will soon hit the shelves!
