DRAGONTALE is a children's opera to be performed by elementary and middle school children. It tells the story of an independent, strong-willed princess who dismisses the suitors chosen by her parents, and finds her own true love. It is an "interspecies" romance, in that the male lead, the dragon, does not turn into a human, nor does the princess become a dragon. It explores a loving relationship based on mutual interests and respect. Both the lyrics and music were written by Ruth I. Rubin.

Biografía del autor:

Ruth I. Rubin has been writing, drawing, and studying music from a young age. She plays the piano, the guitar, and the recorder. Besides writing and drawing, she composes "hums," little melodies that often become songs. Three of these "hums" became the basis for her first three operas. DRAGONTALE has been performed by the students of the Lincoln-Jackson Arts Academy, in Clovis, New Mexico, in 2003.
