The book covers the underlying principles of neurophysiology, cell function and dysfunction, and a compete discussion of the electro-chemical process that governs our every movement and function. Finally, this book describes in detail the implementation and the techniques used in diagnosis and treatment of injury using up-to-date electro-therapy. The SCENAR, which is the most useful tool for the application of this technology, is described in detail. Use of the SCENAR in many applications is described, along with results obtained from its use. The two volumes consist of 451 and 417 pages, with full color pictures and illustrations in a soft cover 6 x 9 inch format.

Peter Lathrop, Ph.D. is a neuroscientist, inventor, engineer, educator, and in day-to-day practice a Clinical Neurophysiologist. Every day he helps people suffering with acute and chronic pain and related soft tissue and musculoskeletal injuries to gain sustained pain relief and accelerated healing of their injuries. When it comes to soft tissue injury (muscles, ligaments, tendons, and nerves) and pain, he has seen and treated it from the head to the toes. Some of the more common conditions include whiplash, neck/cervical strain and pain, shoulder injuries including rotator cuff tears and frozen shoulders, thoracic outlet syndrome, epicondylitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, herniated discs, sciatica, low back pain, knee and ankle sprains, strains, and ligament tears, plantar fasciitis, and other disorders. He specializes in the use of therapeutic, regenerative electrotherapy devices to generate healing, including SCENAR and microcurrent bioelectric signaling devices. Through the course of his career he has co-developed electrotherapy devices with and for manufacturers, many of which are in wide use today. He worked collaboratively at Medtronic, Inc. in the late 1970s to co-develop the first commercially available TENS unit. He partnered with the late Dr. Thomas Wing in the development and commercialization of Microcurrent Technology. He has received patents for his work in device design for treatment of injuries, viruses, and neurological disorders. It was in 2006 that Dr. Lathrop was introduced to the SCENAR, long before the FDA clearance was received in the U.S. He has used it now for nine years in clinical practice. He has an excellent rate of success with the device and it has become his “go to” technology for most indications. As an inventor and early adopter of electrotherapy and laser technology he immediately wanted to know more about SCENAR and to use it himself. Given his background in neurophysiology and biochemistry along with most forms of electrotherapy Dr. Lathrop rapidly assimilated the information and put the SCENAR to use. Dr. Lathrop maintains a significant relationship with the manufacturers in Russia and their representatives. Always an educator, Dr. Lathrop has trained both patients and practitioners in the use of the SCENAR devices. He is also one of only a few in Southern California to be utilizing the revolutionary Russian SCENAR technology to accelerate healing. He has trained most of them.
