Charlie Stubbs has over two decades of experience as a collegiate assistant coach, including 14 seasons as an offensive coordinator, three years as passing game coordinator, and six years as an assistant head coach, at schools such as Oregon State University, University of Memphis, University of Tennessee-Martin, University of Nevada-Las Vegas, University of Alabama, University of Tulsa, University of Louisville, and University of Central Missouri. In 2007, the University of Louisville offense was ranked high nationally and was at the top of the Big East Conference in numerous categories: passing offense (first in the Big East and fourth nationally); passing efficiency (second in the Big East and ninth nationally); total offense (first in the Big East and sixth nationally). They ranked 18th in the nation in scoring offense with an average of 35.2 points per game. The 2008 University of Central Missouri offense was very productive under Stubbs. They ranked number one in the MIAA in passing offense, and their offense averaged over 400 yards of total offense, scoring more than 36 points per game. In Stubbs’ career, he has coached nine all-conference quarterbacks and had three quarterbacks earn All-American honors, including Oregon State’s Erik Wilhelm and freshman All-Americans Jon Denton of UNLV and Tyler Watts of Alabama. Stubbs began his collegiate playing career at Wofford College, but after suffering an injury, transferred to BYU. He earned his bachelor’s degree in 1978 and his master’s degree in 1984,both from BYU.
