Colin Harrison is Senior Curator of European Art at the Ashmolean Museum, University of Oxford. His previous publications include, Turner's Oxford (2000), the Complete Illustrated Catalogue of Paintings in the Ashmolean Museum (2004, joint editor and author), Samuel Palmer 1805-1881: Vision and Landscape (2005, joint author), The Pre-Raphaelites and Italy (2010, joint author), and Lucien Pissarro in England: The Eragny Press 1895-1914 (2011, joint author). Essays by Susan Owens and Timothy Wilcox cover the use of drawing as a teaching practice, the place of watercolour in British artistic practice, and the history of the collection of British drawings in the Ashmolean Museum.
