Críticas:
Beautifully photographed and painstakingly researched, Heritage Trees Wales builds a picture of the treasured place of trees in the history, culture and landscape of Wales. Their place in the nation s heritage is, the foreword says, comparable to its great Eisteddfodau, towering fortifications and mines from which were brought forth gold, slate and coal . Photographer Archie Miles has created a detailed record not only of the heritage trees that currently grace the Welsh landscape, but also of the heritage trees that were lost a long time ago, highlighting once again the need for Green Monument status to safeguard historic trees across the UK. The book gives a detailed account of 74 heritage trees, ranging from ancient yews found near the English border to the small scatterings of whitebeam and the expansive prostate blackthorn to be found rambling across Tanybwlch beach near Aberystwyth. --Tree News - Spring/Summer 2012

This is a stunning book a fascinating mix of Archie s superb photographs with his stories about the trees and their contribution to Welsh cultural history. It makes me want to go to see each and every tree in the book! --Dr Tim Rich, National Museum Wales

This is a book to pick up and look up at any time, simply it s a biography of more than 70 heritage trees. It s a fascinating glimpse of history that s all around us, but only if only we look. Excellently researched, well presented, great photos, information where to see each tree entry (even if you can only look over a wall at it in a field!) and so many, and that s only in Wales. A book for Scotland came first, be great to see the one for England & Ireland too! Check it out there is at least one tree in this book that s easily 1 500-2 000 years old and that s no exaggeration! Wonderful stories abound what about the guy that Owain Glyndwr murdered and dumped his body inside a tree, only to reveal its whereabouts from his death-bed! And a tree 800 years old cut down to build ships for the Navy against La France? Sacre bleu! Some rarities too, it's unlikely you will have heard of all the species mentioned here. Heritage Trees Wales draws the public s attention to such wonderful natural specimens and encourages many more to appreciate these things are priceless, irreplaceable treasures that are here for everyone and their successors to enjoy. Enjoy the read and go see the trees but don t touch and strictly No Climbing! --My Green Lifestyle Magazine
