The book is intended for use by snow researchers. An important topic; high resolution SnowMicroPen is introduced on an elementary level, which enables even relatively unprepared researchers to gain an insight into the subject. The work is motivated by two practical problems: First, the reproduction of snow pack using a point model approach, and second, snow pack validation using unbiased techniques. Pramod K. Satyawali, PhD: Graduated from Pune University. His research areas are: snowpack modelling, snow metamorphism, thermal conductivity, snow characterization, spatial variability, snow acoustics, radar stratigraphy and GHP. Currently, he is working as researcher at the Snow and Avalanche Study Establishment.
