The Songs of Songs in Hebrew, with translation and commentary in Judeo Arabic. Everything is vowelized (had nikud). 4 x 6.5 inches. 166 x 100 mm. 59 pages. The title page and the blank paste down, front and back, as well as the free front end paper have a purple rubber stamp impressions: "JOUDA COHEN Notari[o]] SOUK -EL - ARBA (TUNISIE) and F. COHEN AVOCAT A LA COUR 35 Rue Bab Souika TUNIS." His signature also appears in pencil on front blank and there are also four lines in pencil in Judeo-Arabic by the same book owner. Its translation is: "This book belongs to Yehuda ben Tzemakh HaCohem. Hey, Yud Vav [=Hashem Yishmerhu veyekhayehu = May the Lord protect him and keep him alive, i.e. live a long life], I bought it from Bracha Nisan Hey Taf Resh Tzadi, Vav.[=1936 C.E.]" Nisan may be Bracha's last name or it may refer to the month (month of Nisan) in the year the book was bought.
