Beschreibung: London: Duckworth & Co, 1904, 1904. First Edition; first binding; some minor foxing; small spot on the spine; very good to fine. Presentation copy; inscribed by the author, 'To Lady Grey from W.H. Hudson. Feb. 5, 1904.' The recipient was the wife of Hudson's friend and patron Viscount Grey of Fallodon. The only other inscribed copy we have had was presented a day earlier to the designer of the title page vignette. This exotic romance of the Venezuelan jungle was made into an Audrey Hepburn film in 1959. All books described as first editions are first printings unless otherwise noted.
