No stated date c1924. Third edition. vii, 302pp. O. Douglas was the pseudonym of the Scottish novelist Anna Masterton Buchan (1877-1948). Most of her novels were written and set between the wars and portrayed small town or village life in southern Scotland, reflecting her own life. Ann and her Mother is a true life story of O. Douglas? mother, but depicted as a fictional mother reminiscing with her daughter. The story starts with the mother?s early marriage and family life in Scotland, where she sets about raising six children while supporting her husband, a minister. The book is bound in the original red cloth covered boards with black titling on the spine and front board. The case of the book is in very good condition with light bumping to the top of the spine and top corners. The contents are tight and clean and the author has inscribed the front free endpaper thus: "With all good wishes from "O. Douglas" Feb. 1925". The unclipped dustwrapper (illustrated by Ellen Edwards) has shelf wear with some soiling and the spine is slightly darkened. The spine ends ands corners are bumped with small pieces missing from the bottom of the spine and top corners. A previous owner has reinforced the back of the top of the spine and parts of the top edge with a thick strip of brown paper. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers gScotLitDoug03
