This French playwright poked fun at the bourgeoisie in his many popular comedies such as "Célimare le bien-aimé" (1863), "Le Voyage de M. Perrichon" (1860) and "La Grammaire" (1864), now highly regarded. ALS (in French), 1p, 5¼" X 8", Rueil, France, 1861 August 24. Near fine. Writing from this Paris suburb (Rueil-Malmaison) west of Paris that now has a street named in his honor (Rue Eugene Labiche), the playwright arranges a one-hour appointment for the following Monday.
