Poet Steve Richmond had requested that Ferlinghetti write an introduction to his book of poetry "Earth Rose."* This was his response. In part: "Bukowski loves if Plymell says it's "Equal to Artaud" and "what McClure wishes he were doing." The Free Press quotes it the author Steve Richmond tells me his book "Earth Rose" needs fertilizing by my fertile brain. I say let it bloom by itself if it can - " *Earth Rose. Santa Monica, Earth Books, 1924. Foreword by Charles Bukowski. Provenance: Purchased from Steve Richmond, who said this was unpublished.
