I respectfully request his exemption from military service." Docketed on the back by General Wayne just two weeks before being dismissed. Edges browned; small puncture holes not affecting text. Very good(-) condition. Cuyler was a Confederate Lt. Colonel on the staff of General Henry Constantine Wayne, in command of all Georgia militia, until relieved by Gen. G.W. Smith in September 1864. Montfort was too sick to serve in military duty, but was well enough to handle chemicals and perform his occupation as a tanner. Anything concerning Lt. Col.
