Huish to the limitation page.A beautiful volume looking into British watercolours from the previous century, looking specifically from the founding of the Royal Watercolour Society in 1804 up to 1904. Huish offers a look at the history of watercolours, and how the art has developed from the reigns of George III to Edward VII.This volume includes examples of the works of Helen Allingham, Arthur Hopkins, R. Anning Bell, Walter Crane, and more.Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, one folding plate, and fifty-nine plates.Edited by Marcus B. Huish.Collated, bound without one plate. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. A little discoloured, as is usual to see with white cloth, with some light marks. Discolouration is heavier to the spine. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Hinges are a little strained. Internally, binding is weak, failed between pages 152 and 153. Pages are bright and clean.
