Quarto. Unpaginated. Hardcover bound in green cloth with leather label pastedown on spine. Label is worn, is peeling away from spine and has scuffs. EX-LIBRARY COPY with full markings. The binding is worn, has spotting and ring mark on front cover. Sticker residue at bottom of spine. "William Lanier Hunt" written on front flyleaf. Library index card, card pocket, and stamps on rear flyleaf. Text is toned. Illustrations throughout. SIGNED by author and illustrator. Limited Edition number 54 of 1030 copies printed, of which 1000 were for sale. William Lanier Hunt (1906-1996), the 1950s owner, was the "Dean of Southern Horticulture."
