Theodore Watts-Dunton (1832-1914) was not only a poet, but also a novelist and a critic for the Athenaeum, the London-based journal of literature, science and the arts, where he was a poetry reviewer from 1876-1902. Bound in at the rear are a publisher's announcement of the second edition of this title; two pages of quotations praising another Watts-Dunton work; plus an eleven-page catalogue of belles lettres titles published by John Lane. Overall, a very good copy with uncommonly well-preserved covers, with some uneven toning but otherwise fine and without wear; endpapers and textblock edges foxed, contents show sporadic mild foxing.
