The text block is in fine condition with no marks, tears, or dog ears. There is no bookplate, but the signature of the previous owner is inside the front cover and on the envelope tipped in inside the back cover. Not a library book nor remainder. Pages are age-tanned. Gift inscribed and signed by the author. Tight binding. The pocket which is attached inside the back cover contains three folded charts depicting Selected vessels showing shapes and decorations in some Fulton Aspect foci, Selected vessels showing shapes and decorations in the Alto, Gahagan, Haley, and Spiro Foci of Gibson Aspect, Suggested alignment of agricultural and pottery bearing cultures from the Rio Grande to the Mississippi,? and a general map of the area. The wraps are in good condition (shelf-rubbed and smudged with some edge chipping) and are covered in clear plastic. XX Alex Dony Krieger (1911-1991) was an American archeologist. He graduated from UC-Berkeley and the University of Oregon. He received his doctorate from UNAM (The National Autonomous University of Mexico) in 1954. He carried out his first works as archeologist in the Great Basin of California and Oregon. Between 1939 and 1956 he worked at the University of Texas at Austin, where he made important contributions to the classification of projectile points and pottery in Texas. In 1960 he became professor of anthropology at the University of Washington, where he worked until 1979. He was also an affiliated curator of the Burke Museum. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 000844
