R.W. Smith Bookseller was established in 1975 as a specialist in rare and out-of-print reference material on art, architecture, design and photography, with American art our leading specialty. We are situated on the southwest corner of historic East Rock Park in New Haven, one-fourth mile off Exit 6, I-91, with free on-street parking, and splendid views of the Park. We welcome vistors (by appointment) to our premises, located in a three-story Victorian house with seven rooms for browsing. With over 40,000 different titles, including books, exhibition catalogues and ephemera on American art alone, we are the leading specialists in that field. Our collection of pre-1900 imprints on American art is one of the largest of its kind in private hands. We have published over forty catalogues on subjects such as American Women Artists, American Sculpture, Nineteenth Century American Art Imprints, African-American Art, The Armory Show and its Exhibitors, etc. We welcome inquiries and want lists in our fields of specialty.
