Beschreibung
Third edition revised, inscribed presentation copy by the author "The Rev. W H Bule / with the author's kind regards.", very scarce thus. Earnshaw is celebrated for his contributions to the early developing field of theoretical physics, most notably for his "Earnshaw's Theorem" which disproves the possibility of self stabilizing free floating permanent magnets. Book is in great condition, original cartonnage covers show some wear, toning and rubbing, cloth tape spine is toned, but still contains most of title with small chip having removed just the 'w' of author's name, printer's label price of 14s, still intact. Internally very clean with little foxing mostly to endpapers, small tear to front endpaper near hinge, not serious, two notes on title page. Octavo, 372 pages, plain cartonnage covers with cloth tape spine, title label, untrimmed fore edge and at bottom of block. Satisfaction guaranteed. Additional photos always available on request. Shipped in a fitted, padded box. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers ABE-1630004797269
