Signed, with amended title page, by translator Gustav Emil Mueller (1898-1987). Mueller was trained in Switzerland, Germany, and England and came to the United States in 1925 to teach philosophy at the University of Oregon, joining the faculty at the University of Oklahoma soon thereafter in 1930. He is best known for his book "Hegel: The Man, His Vision, and His Work (1959)," published in the same year as this translation of Hegel's Encyclopedia. This copy in very good+ condition, with the textblock tight and square, but slightly detached from the spine at the top; pages are toned with age; some rubbing and light bumping to covers and spine. Dust jacket is rubbed, with scrubbed price and only small tears at the extremities; a small dampstain at the spine.
