Beschreibung
Octavo, brown cloth lettered in gilt; slightly soiled. First American edition, later printing. From the library of Lois Walcott Kellogg Jessup, with the noted educator's ownership signature on the front endpaper. Lois Jessup (1898-1986) worked tirelessly for the American Friends Service Committee, the U.S. Children's Bureau (preparing reports on children in Europe during Second World War, and the United Nations, advocating for women's rights around the world. She married Philip C. Jessup, a judge on the International Court of Justice and veteran U. S. diplomat, credited with playing a major role in ending the Soviet blockade of West Berlin. A fine association with a distinguished provenance, signed by Lord Dunsany on the front endpaper. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers ABE-16974231275
