8vo 8" - 9" tall; 181 pages; 2nd printing of Kozol's first book published when he was 21. Inscribed and signed by Kozol on the dedication page to Jere Real. Real was a professor at Lynchburg College; he coordinated visits and played host to the authors who appeared at the college as part of the Thornton Writer-in-Residence and Guest Reader program. Snug neat copy has an inadvertant mild corner crease to one page and usual mild toning to page stock. Jacket lightly edge rubbed with mild stressing to spine ends. Uncommon in signed examples.
