He began his career as a professional in Paris in 1973 and subsequently worked with the photo agencies Sygma, Gamma, and Magnum Photos. Salgado s photographic projects have been featured in many exhibitions, numerous collected books and anthologies, and displayed in nearly every major photographic museum. ///// From Taschen: Sebastião Salgado s haunting black-and-white photographs from the GENESIS project record landscapes and people unchanged in the devastating onslaught of modern society and development. Taken over the course of an epic eight-year expedition, the images are divided into five broad geographic chapters: Planet South, Sanctuaries, Africa, Northern Spaces, Amazonia, and Pantanal. ///// Condition: A few scuffs and minor abrasions to leather; binding of Vol. II just starting internally from head, slight abrasion and gap at gutter on p. 653 of Vol. II; cherrywood stand with a few scratches; near fine. ///// Note: Sorry, no international sales. The total shipping weight is nearly 120lbs. Shipping cost within the US will vary depending upon destination but is estimated at $150. Anbieterinformationen
We guarantee the condition of every book as it's described on the AbeBooks web sites. If you're dissatisfied with your purchase (Incorrect Book/Not as Described/Damaged) or if the order wasn't delivered, you're eligible for a refund within 30 days of the estimated delivery date. As collectors ourselves, we know that sometimes a book arrives that just isn't quite what we expected, even though it was accurately described. We will refund those too, but in that case, we would like you to contact us ...
Mehr InformationShipping costs are based on an average weight, including packaging, of 2 LB, or 0.9 KG. We usually don't charge extra if you are above that, but If your book is very heavy or special handling is required we may add an extra shipping charge. This usually occurs only for books being shipped via priority mail or internationally; the extra cost for shipping can make the difference in whether we make a profit or take a loss on the sale. We will always contact you first to get your approval for the extra charge. Sometimes shipping doesn't cost as much as we estimate -- if it's a negligible amount we just let it be but if it is substantial, we usually refund the excess shipping. We do not insure our shipments*; if you would like your package insured let us know and we will quote you the extra cost for doing so. (*Domestic items being sent by priority mail are automatically insured by the post office for up to $50.)
