F Gray Griswold stamp on front end-paper. Words "To H U Tomlinson, 1930" written in black ink on front end paper, style of writing very similiar to author signature on title page. Several full page illustrations, including frontispiece - all tissue guarded. El Greco (1541-1614) was a Cretan-born painter, architect and sculptor who settled in Spain and is regarded as the first great genius of the Spanish School.
