Signed 'Garth' at bottom right corner of the drawing. An original unpublished cartoon, depicting two station employees and a crowd of prospective travelers, with a station table depicting one of the trains as lost; perspective is viewing the station table and crowd from the side. Drawn between 1943-1946, when Williams was a contributor to the New Yorker, though he only had seven cartoons published. Williams met E. B. White through his work with the magazine and would go onto to illustrate White's novels Stuart Little and Charlotte's Web. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers BBS-2011255
