Beschreibung
This noted concert pianist performed nationally throughout the 1920s and '30s; her husband was General Edwin M. "Pa" Watson (1883-1945), close friend and assistant to President Franklin D. Roosevelt. IPS, 8" X 10", n.p., 1925. Very good. Faint creasing near bottom, barely visible. Sepia-tone half-length portrait of Nash playing piano, nicely signed and inscribed by her in black ink at lower right to a Chicago music school founder: "To John Leiser -- / Sincere Greetings / Frances Nash / 1925." A fine image by noted photographer Herman Heyn (1866-1943), the noted German-born portrait photographer remembered for portraits of William Jennings Bryan, William Howard Taft and hundreds of Native American portraits, with his blind-embossed "Heyn / Omaha" imprint at lower right.
