Soft-spoken Canadian-born actor whose numerous films include the unforgettable "How Green Was My Valley," "Mrs. Miniver," "Madame Curie" and the sci-fi classic "Forbidden Planet." IPS, 8" X 10", n.p., n.y. [ca. 1960]. Very good. Mild bit of corner wear. A handsome head-and-shoulders MGM publicity portrait of Pidgeon in middle age in tuxedo and white bow tie, boldly inscribed and signed "Best to / Donald Burnell / Walter Pidgeon" in blue ballpoint -- unfortunately penned in a dark area of tuxedo at lower right, making for weak contrast.
