This American cinematographer won the Oscar in 1930 for best cinematographer in the documentary "With Byrd at the South Pole." Large and bold "Happy memories of / 'Little America' / Joseph T. Rucker / Byrd Antarctic Expedition / 1928-30 / Photographer Paramount" in black fountain pen on a pristine pink 6" X 3 3/4" autograph album leaf, n.p., n.y. Near fine. No place or year indicated, but from the collection of noted collector Preston Sawyer (1899-1968), California journalist and historical writer, who obtained this in San Francisco around 1930.
