Homer started as an illustrator for Harper's Weekly, recording the Civil War, as it happened. This beautiful volume has the first complete checklist of his published graphics, and the first checklist of his works in public collections. It has a chronology, a bibliography & detailed index. Lavishly printed with 440 illustrations, 68 of which are in full color. It is unmarked except for an inscription and genuine signature by the author, on the first blank flyleaf. The book is VERY GOOD ++. The jacket has one closed 1-1/2" tear on the front upper left edge, but otherwise is VERY GOOD+. There are NONE SIGNED online on any site.
