1st edition. 4to. Unpaginated [41 sheets printed on one side]. Illustrated with color xerox of Micheline drawing and drawings in b/w. Includes prose poem-letter "Letter to Kerouac in Heaven," dated Oct 15, 1984, Globesville Colorado, reproduced in holograph, as well as an assortment of other poems and stories dating from 1958-1984; some photocopied from Micheline's books, others from various typescripts - the entirety giving a rough and vital feel to the work. "He has that swinging free style that I like" wrote Jack Kerouac in his introduction to Micheline's first book of poems, RIVER OF RED WINE (1958). Signed by the author, and in decorated on his hand on the front end-paper, it states: " This is No. 14 of 14 put together by the author Jack Micheline Original cover and color photo of drawing of Kerouac rising and entering Heaven Nov. 13, 1984 Denver Colorado." On verso of front wrap in author*s handwriting is written in purple marker pen, This is a midnight Special edition. This is No. 7 of 15 copies signed and numbered by the author with hand painted original cover Letter to Kerouac in Heaven ï¾ 1985 Jack Micheline. This copy is further inscribed by Jack in blue marker pen to his author-photgrapher friend, For Ed Buryn, love, Jack Micheline 10 Feb 1986. This copy includes a full-page photocopy drawing hand-colored in red & purple markers by Jack, entitled Jack Kerouac After Beat Conference in Heaven. It also includes a separate 8 x 10 color print of Jack walking and pufffing a cigarette on a crowded San Francisco street in June 1977, signed by photographer Ed Buryn. (This is the image used on the cover of Jack*s book Skinny Dynamite.) Unique offering. 8 x 11, approx 64 unnumbered pp, black marker-pen endpaper dwgs.
