This German Luftwaffe ace and Knight's Cross winner fought in the Battle of France and Battle of Britain and is credited with downing 93 enemy aircraft -- before he himself was shot down and killed at age 28 over Estonia. PS, 4" X 5 3/4", n.p., n.y. Fair only. A handsome sepia-tone head-and-shoulders postcard portrait of Schnell in uniform, signed by him (the usual "Schnell") in blue ink on the blank lower margin. Signature is fully and easily legible but quite light, hence the low grading. Verso address and message portions are blank. Very scarce. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 37720
