This Accounting Hall of Famer (inducted 1960) was a civil servant who served as director of the Bureau of the Budget (1958-61) and as President Nixon's secretary of commerce (1969-72), resigning to head Nixon's re-election campaign (which bore the unfortunate acronym CREEP), in which capacity he got caught up in the Watergate affair. PS, heavy stock 8" X 10", n.p., n.y. Fine. Superb matte finish head-and-shoulders portrait, circa 1970, signed handsomely by Stand in blue ink on the blank lower margin. A choice example.
