This VERY SCARCE 99 pp. indexed book is a LIMITED EDITION of 250 cc., of which this is #222, as stated on the Colophon page at the rear. This small book is KENTUCKY MONOGRAPH #2, and details the 7 years that Rafinesque lived in Lexington, Kentucky, and taught at Transylvania University. He was a renowned genius that wrote 932 books and articles in English, French & Italian. He was a noted scientist, considered the best Field-Botanist of the time. The book is genuinely signed by the author on the half-title page. It is # 410 in Coleman's "Bibliography of Kentucky History". There is a prior owner's name atop the first blank flyleaf, but otherwise the book is unmarked and pristine internally. Externally, it shows moderate corner wear, light wear to the Title on the spine & there is a faint image (if you hold the book just right) of where a label may have been on the front board.
