A remnant of the original dust wrapper comprised of the spine, back panel and back flap. Color pictorial endpapers. 94 pp. Extensively illustrated with black and white drawings within text and full color drawings, both full page and within text. There are a few inconsequential short closed tears effecting neither drawings nor text and one 4-1/4" long closed tear on page 55/56 that effects only text. What makes this copy so special is the signed presentation of the front endpaper, dated September 19, 1936 from Johnny Gruelle to one "Carlie", along with an original pen and ink drawing of Raggedy Ann, Gruelle's most famous character creation, sitting on a garland of flowers.
