Beschreibung
Known as the "Ambling Alp," the gigantic Italian-born American boxer racked up an impressive 87-13 boxing record between 1928-37, taking the world heavyweight championship away from Jack Sharkey in 1933 then losing it the following year to Max Baer; in 1946 he became a professional wrestler. Sloppy signature as big and bold as the man himself in blue ballpoint on an irregular-shaped roughly oval-shaped 4½" 2" slip, n.p., n.d. [ca. 1960]. Very good. Several small tape stains at edges, a couple barely touching the signature. Comes with a two-part trimmed wrestling fan magazine article about Carnera (titled "Once the Holder of Boxing's World Heavyweight Title; Today Wrestling's Gigantic 'Preem'") from the same time period. A nice late-life example from his wrestling period -- very scarce and despite odd shape and tape mars fairly attractive. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 46560
