This rear admiral in the U.S. Navy fought in the Spanish-American War, and from 1902 to 1903 served as aide to the Commander-in-Chief of the North Atlantic Fleet; he commanded the "Oklahoma" during World War One, and from 1919 to 1927 served as High Commissioner in Turkey; in 1927 he took command of the Asiatic Fleet. Large and bold "Mark L Bristol / Rear Admiral / U.S. Navy . 22 Jan. 1932" in brown ink on a 4 3/4" X 2¼" sheet. Near fine. Quite attractive. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 31741
