The most colorful of New York's many colorful mayors was its airport-namesake 99th, a vocal Republican reformer who served in Congress (1917-19, 1923-33) and three terms as mayor (1934-45). Thick, bold signature in black ink on a heavy stock buff 3/4" X 3" slip (clipped from postal card) n.p., n.y. Near fine. Comes with a printed head-and-shoulders portrait of a stern-looking La Guardia with facsimile signature beneath (likely a book frontispiece).
