Beschreibung
Scarce 5.5 x 3.5-inch commemorative postcard commissioned by the Governments of France and Italy, in honor of the "great" cooperation between the two nations. Nomellini has depicted the two nations as glamorous woman in an embrace (within a landscape background), boldly signed with exceptional contrast: "Plinio Nomellini, Torre Del Lago, Sept. 17, 1907." The back of the postcard indicates that it was distributed in April 1904. Mounting remnants on the back; otherwise in very good condition. Italian painter whose early works adopted aspects of Divisionism. He belonged to the living artist sect known as Gruppo d'Albano and years later gained fame as an accomplished landscape artist.
